PostThe Soldiers Burden: A Tribute To The Fallen Canadian Soldiers

War brings calls of fear to many. It brings chaos to grounds that were once silent. It destroys friendships and creates tension amoung countries. Peace never comes easy and those who wish to remove it, will. The innocent will die because of their goverments choices.

But a few take the ultimate sacrifice.

The Soldier stands up from the crowd and takes the calling, to preserve peace and protect the innocents blood that does not need to be shed. It's the Soldier that protects not for a salery, not for pride, but for knowing that home is safe, that home will be safe and everyone at home along with it, will be safe. It's the solider that has to pay the ultimate risk of losing their own life. It's the soldier that has to carry the pain of losing their brother, their comrad in battle. It's the soldier that has to carry their comrad's body to it's final resting place. It's the solider that says "No one will hurt you tonight, not on my watch". It's the Soldier that makes the choice to carry the weapons of death into a battle. It's the Soldier that takes the burden of horrible memories of being on the frontlines of war. It's the soldier that has to leave his loved ones knowing that he might be coming back in a box with a flagged draped over it. It's the soldier that has to pay the price of losing his name, and his only identity becoming john or jean doe on a tombstone. This remembrance day I will not cry to God on why these soldiers had to lose their lives, I will not cry out in agony or pain for their lost. But I will wear pride on my heart for we are all better people for knowing their names, and knowing what they did for our country. It is not a flag I salute, not freedom I salute but the men and women that made that flag and that gave us freedom. It's to the men and women that I write this piece in their honor, and in their memory. For I will honor them

Rest In Peace
