How To Cast. - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: How To Cast.   How To Cast. - Page 2 EmptyTue Feb 08, 2011 10:57 pm

First topic message reminder :

Casting is fairly simple. What Iv'e used is either FME+SCFH or just xsplit. I prefer xsplit since its easier so ill give the tutorial through that.
1) Download xsplit here
2) There will be some rectangular buttons at the bottom left corner, chose the first one, then add a camera or screen region.
3) Add your JTV account, by clicking file, then saying add account or something along that line.
4) At the top row there will be a drop down that says broadcast, click it, then select JTV.

And BAM your casting. Just remember if you have your stream up at the same time to mute it, otherwise there will be extreme echoing. Hope this helped.

Or.... you could always just use SCFH along with Xsplit in order to reduce CPU..

I keep running into games without windowed mode so xsplit failed me in that respect, but i love how easy it is to setup. I've been using fme+scfh lately. What resolution/fps do you guys typically use, and do you prefer H.264 or VP6?

Ok I got the Xspilt set up with my Jtv account how do I get it to feed to my channel and go live.
And with the FME I do not really have a good idea of what to do to get that to work properly.

When you have XSplit, you don't need FME.

Once you have XSplit set up with your Jtv account, all you need to do is make a source for your desktop, or whatever other device you're wanting to capture by clicking "Add" at the bottom left of the window, then scrolling up to "Add Screen Region". You can then either capture a window, desktop, or click and drag to capture a selected area.

Once you have your source made, and you're ready to start broadcasting, click "Broadcast" at the top of the window and go down to your channel. You can start broadcasting this way, or use the default hotkey that XSplit has which is Ctrl+Alt+1.

It should begin to stream.

But you also got to remember, XSplit is going out of beta soon and will be needed to buy, so I'm sure a lot of people are going to be switching to the old method.
