Ok so there's advanced as in final cut pro and then there's simple as in windows movie maker I'm guessing what your looking for is imovie it's pretty simple and it does most of the work for you and you can enable advance features like slow mo and what not its worth a try right?

I recently started using AVS Video Editor, pretty straight forward and can handle most of the more complicated things. Nice to use if you have some experience with editing.
