I was browsing youtube yesterday when I stumbled upon this:
This got me interested in what's been going on and I wanted to get up-to-date on this subject. Apparently, back near the end of December, Sony filed a lawsuit seeking to block LG Electronics from shipping phones into the US complaining that some of LG's products are using Sony technology without their permission.
With LG angry at Sony, they decided to fire back with a lawsuit of their own. They claim that the PS3 Violates a few of their own patents concerning the blu-ray technology. so far LG has been winning this battle, as new PS3 consoles have been seized by European Customs officers from coming into Europe for 10 days starting yesterday, and the courts could even add to this amount as time goes on. LG has also been trying to do the same thing in North America.
So what do you guys make of all this crazyness?

Nothing to worry about. The big companies do this all the time. All they are doing is seeing who has the biggest dick. The PS3 is still an intellectual property of Sony Entertainment, the tech may have been based off of LG's technology, but LG does not have the rights over the system.
The only thing Sony would have to do, and I mean worst case scenario, is give a small percentage of each sale to LG for licensing. Like what they had to do with the DualShock controller.
