JTV Update

As some of you may know I am on the partnership roll call on JTV. As it is a great honor I would like to post a recent message sent to me by Emmett. For certain reasons I will only post the bits that will affect you guys and I will keep other information to myself in case it is to be kept confidential. The reason for posting this is that recently I have been requested to place music on my stream numerous times and with this rule it I will refrain from posting ANY material not owned by myself but I will accept music and such given directly from the musician him/herself.



Hey gaming partners!

You guys are our soul. Your awesome video is the reason for our existence. Because we love you, we have to ask you to NEVER EVER DO THE FOLLOWING TWO THINGS EVER EVER EVER:

1) Play music that you don't have the rights to on your channel. Ever. For serious. Music licensing is not a joke. You can find some great music that is totally cool to play on your stream on http://www.premiumbeat.com/ or http://www.studiocutz.com/. But if you have any doubt, the answer is sadly no, you cannot play that music on your stream. Sorry.

2) Rebroadcast videos from other people. Some tournament stream behind a paywall? No. Funny YouTube video? No. Game trailer? Sadly, no. If you find yourself rebroadcasting video from someone else, you are doing it wrong. Do not rebroadcast video.

Sorry it was more of an update than anything so I didn't really feel the need to discuss it but if anyone feels the need this thread is officially unlocked!

Also I think the music Onyx's playlist isn't owned by her I would assume it would fit under the "do not play" section of the rule book. Also I do not get money from this but as a Partnership member I am looked upon by JTV staff more and more frequently and since playing copyrighted music was illegal from the start I just feel it is time to implement the rule now that the channel has more attention. Sorry folks, no more country music rumpuses and notorious family jigs around the streamin' site for a while (Singing jigs is just fine though)

So what does tis mean for movie casting?

oh tom singing us a jig is all the music we need, but dancing us a song is also good

Hmm... With all the JTV attention on your casting page, I wonder how much JTV employees we get looking at our website. (Sponsorship? )

considering that you can still play unlicensed/uncopywriten music, we should make a thread for that so you guys can still have SOME music to play while you're casting (other than music that's in your games of course). newgrounds is a good source to start searching for some music.

Well, the music has the same loophole in the Terms of Service as the movie does. As long is Tom is clearly expressing an opinion on each song, he should be fine to broadcast it.

im sure Leroy Jenkins can be played hehehehe
