Rick roll blocker.

Some of you maybe saw me saying that I would make a rick roll blocker for chrome.

I actually got a prototype ready. I know I may be hated by some and loved by others for this.

And if you guys feel like this is a really big bad idea, just tell me and I will trash it. No big loss. Not much time wasted on it anyways.

It's very simple and are based upon known links. So it can be overcome by tinyurling or posting a rickroll that it dosent know.
And therefore I need you guys to post as many rickrolls as you know here so I can add on it's repository.

Chrome should auto detect the link as a extension and try to install it when you click. (check lower left corner)

It only works on three rickrolls atm.

You can test it by searching for rick roll in youtube. The first link should get disabled.


UPDATED: Now it works in Jtv chat and I removed the original Rick Astley song from filter, as some might actually wanna listen to it.

Square's got a Mac? Shame on you. And awesome idea, weeruz! Just curious though, how does it disable them? Does it make them unclickable or disable the flash on the page, or something of that nature?

Isnt there a chrome version for mac?



It's just remake the link so it wont point to the rick roll. And put in new text in the link so you can see it.

The link is remade to point to http://disabled (if you click on it you'll get a 404 error (not found) )

And the text is remade to 'Rick roll disabled' So you'll see if it was a rickroll.

I should maybe remove the link remaker incase someone send you a rickroll and you want to see it for some reason...
Or better yet add an option page to activate or disable some functions.

But I think a page where can set the plugins options will be nice too.

Example:

Block type:

Complete. (link is pointed to disabled and will get you a 404)
Ask. (a popup will ask you if you are sure you wanna see it)
None. (link will not get altered, but text will, so you know its a rickroll)


Text to insert: (a text field so you can put in own text in link)

Yeah, no problem.. Just remember to mention it's still a very early version that dont do much else than remove a couple of rick roll links. Wont do much else in future to. But I gonna add more links to block and some kinda configuration page for it.

but anyways, cool idea, reminds me of an ad-blocker.
